Areruya Joseph wins Farmers Circuit

Team Rwanda rider Areruya Joseph riding for Les Amis Sportifs , won the Farmers’ Circuit the first of 2016 Rwanda Cycling Cup races.

Areruya finished the 148km race from Kigali to Nyagatare ahead of Hakuzimana(Benediction Club) and Uwizeyiman Jean Claude on Saturday.

The 20-year old strong rider who also won the Circuit International de Constantine this year, won out of a select group at Farmers’ Circuit race, as the group came together halfway into the race after an early attack by Ruberwa Jean.

“I want to win this year’s Cycling Cup.” Araruya said “I could have won it last year but there were a few races that I didn’t do because I was competing in international races for Team Rwanda.”

Manizabayo Eric claimed the victory in the junior category with Ingabire Beatha dominating the women race.

Rwanda Cycling Cup,jointly sponsored by Skol and Cogebanque resumes this Saturday with the Race To Remember.
