Rwanda climbs to 4th in Africa Tours rankings

The latest UCI rankings have been released and the Rwanda has jumped into the fourth spot in UCI Africa Tours rankings for the first time. Eritrea is ranked first ahead of Morocco and South Africa.

The Rwandan cycling has been rising fast and the country is now is catching up with top African cycling nations after years of efforts and dedication.

“We are happy to move up one more place but we also know we need to work harder to keep this place or move higher in the ranking.We need to compete in as many races as possible and get maximum points.” said Aimable Bayingana,the President of the Rwanda Cycling Federation.

The remaining races on this year’s UCI Africa Tours calendar include the Tour of Eritrea, Tour de Cote d’Ivoire, Grand Prix Chantal Biya and Tour du Rwanda.
