Team Rwanda to go full gas at Colorado Classic
Team Rwanda go into today’s first stage of the Colorado Classic highly motivated and aiming for the results in one of their biggest races to date.
Sterling Magnell the team’s head coach said that this opportunity was something that they were never going to be able to pass up.
“As you know it’s a high-level race and comes with a lot of exposure.You got take an invitation like that and make the most of it. It’s really key for us to be able bring in a quality team and use the opportunity to show where Rwanda stands and how far we have come in the sport.” Said Sterling
The Colorado Classic is an HC race sanctioned by Union Cycliste Internationale and is is being regarded as one of the highest caliber races for Team Rwanda to date.
The Rwandan contingent for the Colorado Classic includes the 2015 Tour du Rwanda winner Jean Bosco Nsengimana and reigning national road champion Gasore Hategeka,it also features Bonaventure Uwizeyimana,Jean Claude Uwizeye and two strong young riders Rene Jean Paul Ukiniwabo and Didier Munyaneza.
They will rub shoulders with some of the best riders in the world including Tour de France runner – up Rigoberto Urán (Cannondale-Drapac) and his teammate Taylor Phinney ,Brent Bookwalter (BMC Racing Team) and Alex Howes (Cannondale-Drapac)

According to race organizers, 16 teams including four UCI World Tour teams such as BMC Racing Team, Cannondale-Drapac Professional Cycling Team, Trek-Segafredo and UAE Team Emirates have confirmed to take part in the race.

Stage 2: Friday, August 11 - Breckenridge Circuit - 103km
Stage 3: Saturday, August 12 - Denver to Denver - 130km
Stage 4: Sunday, August 13 - Denver City Circuit - 120.1km
