Uwizeyimana Bonaventure invited to ride in Canada with Lowestrates.ca

Quebec-based cycling team, Lowestrates.ca has invited the national reigning champion Bonaventure Uwizeyimana to train and race with them this season.

The 24-year-old Rwandan cyclist linked up with the Lowestrates.ca team in Quebec on Monday and will make his debut when team LowestRates.ca starts the international Grand Prix de Saguenay and the Tour de Beauce, two Union Cycliste International (UCI) sanctioned race which will be held in June.

Bonaventure arrival was welcomed by the team’s general manager Frédérick Gates. “I had discussed the possibility of inviting a Rwandan rider to join my team with the Team Rwanda program during our visit in Rwanda last November. The project was formalized last week. “BONA” is a complete cyclist. He climbs well and has the ability to finish strong in the sprint. He has good international racing and life experience. I have no doubt that he will contribute to the success of our team, “ Frédérick Gates said.

Bonaventure’s palmares includes a stage win at the La Tropicale Amissa Bongo in 2014 and national championship title last year. He also raced with Dimension Data for Qhubeka Pro Team last season.

He is also a regular member of Team Rwanda for which he has predominantly worked as a support rider forming part of the team that won Tour du Rwanda three times in a row.
